Logical Methods in Computer Science is intended to become an internationally leading journal in theoretical computer science. Access is free and there are no page charges for authors. The journal will be open for paper submission on September 1, 2004
The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts will receive a collection of some 1,000 recordings that preserve the 17-year history of performances produced by fellow Lincoln Center constituent Jazz at Lincoln Center. The recordings will be available for listening by the general public in the Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound at the Library's Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at Lincoln Center. The collection is being given to the Library by Jazz at Lincoln Center and preserves hundreds of the original concerts it has produced at Lincoln Center and performed on tour since its origins in 1987

The Copyright Office of the Library of Congress is proposing to amend its regulations to permit the Library of Congress to record unpublished radio and other audio and audiovisual transmission programs. The Copyright Office regulations already provide for the Library of Congress to obtain copies of unpublished television transmission programs, either by recording fixations or by demanding copies in the form of a transfer, loan or sale at cost. This revised regulation makes similar provisions for audio transmission programs and includes transmission programs made available by radio broadcasts and by digital communications networks such as the Internet. Carlin, has announced the two companies that will lead the way in designing a technological solution to the challenge of preserving electronic information across space and time. These design contracts are valued at $20.1 million. At the end of the one-year design competition, The National Archives will select one of these two contractors to build the Electronic Records Archives, a revolutionary system that will capture electronic information, regardless of its format, save it permanently, and make it accessible on whatever hardware or software is currently in use
